Open Data Publisher is an ASP.Net MVC application that allows you to quickly and easily publish data from SQL Server tables and views using the OData protocol, and present data from OData and static sources to the public for download and exploration.
This, quite simply, is the easiest way to start publishing Open Government data if you are already using SQL Server to store your information.
Open Data Publisher is a fork of Microsoft's OGDI project
, rewritten to easily publish information from Microsoft SQL Server tables and views using the OData protocol, KML, and JSON.
In addition, the interactive viewer has been enhanced to integrate with multiple data sources, including both Open Data Publisher-based OData feeds and external OData feeds.
Open Data Publisher is currently in pre-release state. Major functionality is complete but it is still a bit rough around the edges. You're welcome to play around with it, but expect changes.
Open Data Publisher owes a lot to other open source projects and freely available components.
Initial porting of this project to IIS/SQL Server was sponsored by the City of Nanaimo
